Spatial data--particularly the files used by GIS software, can be found online at a number of websites which offer free and for-fee data files for download.

Data on the campus repository:

A directory on Trinity's campus network serves as a repository for frequently used data sets, including a number of campus map layers. Data purchased for use and data created by Trinity faculty, students, and staff can also be stored there.  The repository can be accessed directly from ArcGIS Desktop, once the network drive has been mapped.

  • City of San Antonio/Bexar County GIS data (with projection assigned)
  • Campus aerial photos and CAD lines
  • Texas geographic boundaries including census geographies
  • World CountryWatch demographic and economic data

Additionally, ESRI's Data & Maps sets can be accessed on the network by contacting Jeremy Donald to obtain the directory path and instructions for access.
