The faculty and staff of the Coates
Library welcomes you for Spring 2007!

Remember
at the end of the fall semester, when you were racing to find sources at the last minute and sweating over citation styles? We were here for ya...and we’ll be here again.

BUT...you can make your life easier by taking a little time to plan ahead.  Start now!

First, review the syllabi for your classes and mark essay due dates in your calendar. Then, count 14 days backward and make a note to visit the library for that assignment. You may not write the paper until the last minute—it’s ok, we won’t tell. But if you have your sources, then you can spend your time sweating over your own ideas.

We hope that the new resources and the assistance described in this newsletter will also help you out.  Good luck!

Citing Sources: Three Ways to get Help!

1. Use RefWorks, a software program
that helps you cite your sources and create bibliographies

2. Use the library’s Citing Sources pages on how to cite all kinds of
sources in MLA, APA, Chicago, and Turabian citation styles.

3. Visit, call, or instant message the library’s HELP DESK.
