Paying For Print Has Its Benefits

 • You choose a unique identifying name for the print file. This makes it easy for you to find it in the queue when you are ready to print it.

• You know the file is there. Without print management software, it is nearly impossible to know where your document is in the print queue. Now you know that your file is there and is ready to print. No need to send it a second time (or third or fourth….) if it doesn’t print quickly. This helps to eliminate waste due to duplicated jobs!

• You know if you made a mistake by sending too many pages to the printer before the file is printed! Sometimes it is impossible to know that the entire document on the net will print if you try to print just a single page. These “accidents” waste a lot of paper and toner.

• Your file prints as you release it, and not in the order that you send it to the printer. It doesn’t matter if the file is sent to the printer after 10 other files. If you make it to the print release station first, you’re first to print.

• You can password protect your file (optional at all print release stations other then the guest release station in Coates Library, passwords are required here)! No one can walk off with your paper; no one can see the information that you want to keep private.

• Waste and unnecessary printing is reduced dramatically. Library and Laboratory resources can be better used to provide enhanced state of the art computing equipment, not spent on toner and paper that is wasted on unnecessary printing you pay for only what you print, not for what others waste.
