What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Sites Survey. It is a Web format for syndicating (distributing) content such as news to users who use an aggregator (such as a news reader application) to store and view headlines. All kinds of content can be handled this way: news headlines, blog entries, and Google searches are just a few of the sources for RSS content.

RSS Feeds

Here you will find URLs of feeds that supply Economics content. Simply by pointing a news reader application such as Bloglines, FastBuzz, and NewsIsFree (these are free and web-based) at these URLs, you can preview and read the content they provide.

Feeds come from any site that provides new content on a regular basis. Below you will find feeds for scholarly journals, professional organizations, and coverage of news and events.

To use a feed, click on the button for the source you want. This will open a page of XML code. Open your newsreader and look for the "Add a feed" or Subscribe" function. Simply paste the URL for the XML page into your newsreader, choose your settings, and content will be updated automatically.
