Here are recommended databases for searching for articles in physics:

Compendex/Engineering Village 2
A primary index for the physical sciences and engineering. Includes some full-text articles.

Applied Science and Technology Abstracts
Index to popular as well as scholarly literature in the physical sciences and engineering.  Includes some full-text articles.

Scopus
Index to scholarly material in all the sciences; useful for locating articles that cite earlier publications.

Institute of Physics (IOP) Electronic Journals
Access to all IOP journals. Scholarly, full-text articles available from as early as 1968 to the present.

SciFinder Scholar
The basic index for chemical literature, including chemical physics. Available on most computers in the library  (not a Web product).  Limited to one simultaneous user.
