Databases

Current Index to Statistics
The Current Index to Statistics is a bibliographic index to publications in statistics and related fields. References are drawn from 162 core journals (as of 2003) that are fully indexed, non-core journals from which articles are selected that have statistical content, proceedings and edited books, and other sources.

Historical Statistics of the United States
Quantitative U.S. historical data, available for download in Excel. Custom tables, graphing, and sorting available. Registration required for some custom features.

ICPSR
From the University of Michigan, the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research "maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use."

Reports from over 50 Federal agencies including the National Trade Data Bank, the Economic Bulletin Board, Global Business Procurement Opportunities, and Bureau of Economics and Statistics Administration.     American Fact Finder An interactive feature of the  U.S. Census Bureau website, American Fact Finder lets you build custom data tables of Census data from the 2000 and 1990 short and long forms.     Decennial Population & Housing Censuses Guide
    From North Carolina State University, a librarian's guide to all of the aspects of each of the U.S. Decennial Censuses. An excellent place to see an overview of what the Census collects and provides, with links to content.

Along with the Census Bureau and STAT-USA, BEA is part of the Department's Economics and Statistics Administration. The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) promotes a better understanding of the U.S. economy by providing the most timely, relevant, and accurate economic data in an objective and cost-effective manner.
