The following internet resources offer images, articles, and other digital documents of interest to students in Classical Studies. Information located on the web should be evaluated before use.  If you have questions or difficulty locating information, please ask for assistance at the Help Desk or contact Benjamin Harris, library liaison for the Department of Classical Studies.

ABZU
ABZU is a guide to resources for the study of the ancient near East, including Egypt, on the Internet.

Ancient World Mapping Center
From the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill comes the website for this interdisciplinary mapping research center. A number of independent projects have been incorporated into the AWMCs work over the years as well, and aside from interactive ancient world maps that can be purchased, free maps are also available for download.

Beazley Archive
Sponsored by Oxford University, this archive includes image and textual resources from more than 20 archival databases, with specific focus on classical gems, pottery, antiquaria, and sculpture. 

Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum
The CVA includes images of more than 100,000 ancient vases located in museums across the world.  For more information on the museums contributing to the project, visit their Museums and Collections page.

Diotima
This site provides access to materials for the study of women and gender in the classical world. It can be searched for online book reviews, articles, images, and related information. A newly added feature is online peer-reviewed articles.

Egyptology Resources
From the University of Cambridge, this site is exhaustive in its coverage of Egyptological information available on the web.  Of particular interest is a page on current digs in the region

Encyclopedia Mythica
This extensive online encyclopedia includes complete section on Greek and Roman mythology.

Forvm Antiqvvm: Ancient World Internet Resources
"Forvm Antiqvvm is a 'gateway' site providing easy access to hundreds of internet resources related to the study of the ancient Mediterranean world (between ca. 5,000 B.C.E. to ca. 1500 C.E.). The pages within this site are divided into two groups. Group 1 collates links to websites dedicated to an historical epoch and/or geographical region (e.g. Ancient Egypt).  Group 2 collates links to sites devoted to disciplines or topics not necessarily anchored in a specific region or historical era (e.g., Numismatics)."

TOCS-IN
Database provides searchable tables of contents for scholarly journals in classical studies, religion, and Near Eastern studies.

Vedute di Roma
Photographic database of architecture and architectural script and images. Images span the last two hundred years, and include drawings as well as recent photographic evidence.  In Italian.
