These links provide information, texts, and other resources related to the study of the Italian language, literatures, and culture. This free online course in the Italian language offers a number of easy-to-follow instruction sessions and quizzes for the beginning speaker and includes sound and visual clips for practicing language comprehension.   
 
Focusing on an audience of students and teachers, this site offers language tests, chat rooms, and a location for
teachers of Italian to share project ideas and lesson plans.
 
Provided by the Italian Language Update School Service, this site includes language tests, online courses, grammar
instruction, readings, listening and vocabulary exercises.

Antologia (frammentaria) della letteratura Italiana
This internet site presents classics of Italian literature with full text and graphics.

De Bibliotheca: La biblioteca di Babele
Complete on-line texts of works "no longer under copyright protection (see site disclaimer for more info) by dozens of Italian writers."  Also includes links to others sites related to featured authors. 

Electronic Newsletter of '900 Italian Literature
Established in 1995 as a project at the University of Bologna, this site and newsletter seek to consolidate the contemporary study of Italian literature.  The creators hope to facilitate discussion and argument on current and historical topics in Italian studies, and to study integrations between literature and the computer sciences.

Italian Language and Literature
Concise history of Italian language and literature from the Roman Empire to the late twentieth century (in English).

Italian Women Writers
This database from the University of Chicago provides full-text searching and browsing capabilities related to Italian women writers born prior to 1945.  

Italnet Projects Page
Italnet is "an international consortium whose mission is to make available scholarly Internet resources of literary and historical materials related to Italian studies."  The site is involved in a number of projects related to making these materials accessible via the Internet.
