Fees for Microform Equipment Instruction and Research Assistance

A fee-based microform research/assistance policy has been established, with the following provisions:

A.   A fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per half-hour will be assessed for any research or equipment instruction which requires more than ten (10) minutes of staff time.  Charges will be assessed in half-hour increments.  Photocopies made by staff for requesting patrons, whether requested by telephone, e-mail, or in person, will be charged to the patron at the rate of one dollar ($1.00) per page, in addition to the aforementioned half-hourly labor charges.  At the patron's request, photocopied materials may be mailed, faxed, e-mailed, or held at the circulation desk for later pick-up at no additional charge.

B.   All patrons placing requests for photocopies to be made by library staff assume sole responsibility for the legality of such reproduction under copyright laws.  The library will view these patrons as primary consumers of the information contained in any copyrighted work, and will serve as simply a publicly-accessible repository of the copyrighted work for any patron who intends to make photocopies thereof.

C.   Payment may be made by cash, check, or Tiger Bucks at the circulation desk or through U.S. postal mail.  All payments must be made before services are rendered, and all involved library staff shall inform patrons up-front about this policy and all possible charges. 

D.   This service will apply to all patrons, both off-campus visitors as well as Trinity personnel.
