Coates Library is organized into four primary departments, each focused on a core area of library services. Together, they support research, teaching, learning, and access to the library’s collections and spaces.
Manages circulation, course reserves, interlibrary loan, and access to library spaces and materials, ensuring users can find and use what they need.
Supports teaching and learning through research instruction, consultations, and instructional materials that help students develop effective research practices.
Oversees the selection, organization, and maintenance of the library’s collections in all formats, ensuring long-term access and discoverability.
Preserves and provides access to rare materials, archival records, and unique collections that support research, teaching, and institutional memory.
Coates Library is home to several centers and labs that support learning, technology, and academic work at Trinity University. While these units are not library departments, they are located within the library building and work in partnership with library staff and community.
