Honoring the Illustrations of Jean Rosow

Snippet of Rosow's Illustration of Coates Library

Jean (Coulter) Rosow is a fine and commercial artist known for her evocative depictions of San Antonio landmarks and events using pen, ink, and watercolor.

Trinity University commissioned her in 1987 to illustrate campus buildings, and her art has since appeared in course bulletins, brochures, and the Trinity University Women’s Club 1996 cookbook.

One of Rosow’s original drawingsβ€”of Coates Libraryβ€”hangs on the left wall as you enter the library’s main floor (3rd floor).

To view Jean Rosow’s artwork, scroll through the gallery below β€” it contains the only digitized illustrations currently available online.
To learn more about her contributions and view a description of the full archival collection (not including images), visit the
Jean Rosow Archives.

The gallery below begins with Jean Rosow’s sketch of Coates Library and continues through five more illustrations of Trinity University: Campus Doors, Trinity Entrance, Magic Stones, Laurie Auditorium, and Book Store.
